Where cost per unit comes from
Four inputs, all derived, none of them typed into a box.
Cost per unit is assembled from ingredients, packaging, tolling and inbound freight. Ingredients come from the recipe multiplied by current supplier prices. Packaging and freight come from your rate lists. Tolling comes from your co-manufacturer’s rate card, at the band your run volume qualifies for.
None of it is entered directly, which is the point. Change a supplier price and every product using that ingredient updates. Book a bigger run and the tolling line drops. There is no second copy to correct.
