Terms of use
Written to be read. If a clause seems to say something surprising, it probably means what it says.

What NextBatch is
NextBatch is software for planning production. It is a place to record and share a plan between a brand and the manufacturer making its product. It is not a party to any agreement between you, it does not manufacture anything, and it does not guarantee that a run happens or that a delivery arrives.
Handshakes
A handshake records that two organisations confirmed the same stated fact at a point in time. It is evidence of what was communicated and agreed within the product. It is not a contract, it does not vary the commercial terms between you and your manufacturer, and it does not transfer liability.
Where a handshake auto-resolves because one side did not respond within their window, it is recorded as auto-acknowledged and not as mutual agreement. That distinction is preserved in the record.
Your data
You keep ownership of everything you put in. We store and process it to run the service. Where work is done jointly with a manufacturer, both organisations retain access to the record of that work — deleting your account does not erase a batch record the manufacturer is required to keep.
Payment and plans
Contract manufacturers are not charged. Brands may be charged according to the plan they choose. If a subscription lapses you drop to read-only on planning features and keep full access to historical records. We do not delete data for non-payment.
Acceptable use
Do not use NextBatch to store data you have no right to, to attempt to access another organisation’s workspace, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend an account doing any of those.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but production decisions are yours. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, and we are not liable for lost profit, lost stock, or consequential loss arising from a production decision.
Changes
We will tell you before these terms change in a way that affects you, and always before anything is charged.
These terms describe our intent and are not yet lawyer-reviewed. They will be before we take payment.
