Six questions before you commit
- Minimum runAnd whether it is set by their line or by your packaging supplier — it is usually the packaging.
- Who buys the ingredientsIt changes your cash cycle and who carries the risk when a delivery is late.
- Tolling rate and its volume bandsCompare quotes at the volume you will actually run, not at the headline number. Nobody uses the same bands.
- Changeover rulesEspecially after allergens or citrus. This decides which slots you can realistically get.
- Certifications and expiry datesSQF or BRCGS is a gate for most national retailers, and it is the site that holds it, not you.
- Typical yieldThe loss lands in your cost per unit rather than on their invoice, so it is your number to care about.
